Germantown Hills and Metamora Service Guide
How scoop day works in Germantown Hills and Metamora.
Service works the same way in both towns. This guide covers how your scoop day is set, how you hear from us before a visit, what we need from the yard and what happens when the weather has other plans.
Two towns, one entry on our list
Julie's list of towns groups Germantown Hills and Metamora together. Being on the list means we serve the area, but coverage is still confirmed one address at a time. The online quote checks yours and shows a price for your yard in the same step.
Live just outside either town and can't find your area on the list? Send a note through our Contact Us form asking us to add it, and we will consider your request.
How your scoop day is set
After you sign up, we get in touch to answer any remaining questions and schedule your first cleanup. From then on, your visits land on a regular scoop day. That day doesn't change unless we tell you about it ahead of time.
Routes are planned fresh every day. We usually scoop between 7:30 AM and dark, and during the school year we often start earlier so the day runs efficiently.
Hearing from us before a visit
On scoop day, a text alert arrives 5 to 60 minutes before we do. It's enough notice to call the dogs inside if you'd like them out of the way.
Nobody needs to be home. A friendly dog can stay out in the yard once our team has met them. If you're home and your dog hasn't met our technician yet, introduce them, or keep the dog indoors until next time. Please ask us first before letting any dog out while we're working, even a timid one.
When the weather changes the plan
We scoop in rain, snow or sunshine. Julie keeps a close eye on the forecast and the scooping schedule, and rather than cancel a visit and promise twice the pickup next week, she often moves the route a day earlier or later so the job still gets done.
Some weather does stop us. Severe storms, lightning, extreme cold or heat, and falling snow that makes the roads hazardous all mean rescheduling for safety. Our team lives in the country, so when travel is unsafe we wait for the weather to clear, then come back and pick up everything we can see without digging into the snow.
What we need from the yard
We need clear, safe access on scoop day. Tall grass, ice, flooding, piles of leaves and large debris all get in the way. Keep the lawn mowed, and in the fall rake the leaves up as soon as you can, because waste hidden under them is waste we can't see.
A locked gate or a loose, unfriendly dog can mean a skipped visit, and a skipped visit may still be charged.
Picking how often we come
Weekly service is our most popular plan. It's the one we recommend for more than one dog, and it gives you the most use of your yard. Every other week costs less per month than weekly service and suits many single-dog homes. Monthly visits fit yards where waste builds up slowly. Quotes can be run for all frequency options to help you choose.
If the yard hasn't had a thorough cleaning in more than 3 weeks, the first visit is an initial cleanup, and what it costs depends on how much waste we remove.
